Garden Notes - June 10, 2013

All the seeds that James and I planted are all up and growing nicely:

The fence I put up to protect the baby basil seedlings seems to be working, but I discovered that something is now eating the sunflower seedlings.  So I had to put up a new fence today.

I noticed that the cantaloupe plants, which seemed to be struggling after I transplanted them, seem to be doing nicely:

The watermelon is doing great!

The perennial garden isn't as splashy as it was for the last two weeks, but there are still some lovely flowers in bloom - especially the roses.  But I also love these:

I've always wanted a Rose Campion plant, and I finally picked up two at the Wisteriahurst plant sale.

Garden Notes - May 6, 2013

The days are getting longer and warmer, and it's looking really beautiful outside:

I have been working hard with my seedlings, preparing garden beds, and even putting up a fence to protect my lettuce and spinach from rabbits:

Well, the lettuce and spinach is barely visible, but it still needs protecting!

Also, I've been enjoying all the daffodils, forsythia and bleeding hearts in my house:

Garden Notes - April 24, 2013

Lots of grape hyacinth growing.

Lots of lovely daffodils and warm weather!

Lilac buds are visible.

Little tiny seedlings from all the seeds I scattered:  poppies, foxglove and cleome.

The lettuce is doing very well!
