This is my favorite time of the year - the height of summer, or, high summer! Everywhere I go, bright-orange tiger lilies spring from the roadsides. For me, the tiger lily is the emblem of summer. They, like other day lilies, appear for just a short time, so I try to imprint their image on my mind, along with all the other lovely things about summer.
As I was driving along a back road yesterday, I came upon this crowd of sunflowers. I stopped the car so I could admire them. Yesterday was the sort of day that was just perfect. Warm, comfortable, flowery and bright.
